Why is the program not transferring the dependant's medical expenses to the family head or spouse in a situation where the medical refundable credit supplement (F452) can be claimed?

This situation occurs when the family head's and spouse's (if any) basic federal tax amounts (Schedule 1, line 429) are equal to $ 0 and they have one or several dependants with medical expenses.

As a workaround, in the file of the spouse with the higher net income (line 236):

    1) use the Optimize keyword option "T1 - Medical expenses"
    2) select "Claim for all family members" under the Control.op keyword.

For situations where it is more beneficial to split the medical expenses between the spouses, repeat step 1, then select "Claim specified amount" to enter the amount of medical expenses to be claimed.
